The business sector of southern Quintana Roo has announced the upcoming First Caribbean Mexican Barbecue Festival, which will take place in the municipality of Bacalar on Saturday, December 13. The event will feature the participation of chefs and barbecue specialists from Bacalar and Chetumal.
The Hotel Association of Central and Southern Quintana Roo, the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac), and the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) announced that the First Caribbean Mexican Barbecue Festival will be held on Saturday, December 13. The event will be coordinated by chef Marcy Bezaleel Pacheco, president of the Quintana Roo Chefs Association.
Organizers described it as a gastronomic celebration based on charcoal cooking that will feature live music. The festival will be held at Paraíso Bacalar, Blu Beach Club, located on Avenida Costera. In this regard, chef Bezaleel stated that “it will be an extraordinary experience for attendees.”
It is worth noting that the coordinating chef has experience organizing this type of event in other locations in the northern part of the state, such as Cancún, Puerto Morelos, and Playa del Carmen.
Additionally, all restaurants in hotels in Chetumal and Bacalar are invited to participate in the event, as are artisans and musical groups. The goal is for this festival to generate economic benefits for all economic sectors while also showcasing local talent.
Similarly, nautical service providers are also invited to participate so they can approach Blu Beach Club with their passengers, allowing them to be part of the experience by tasting the dishes that will be offered to attendees.
Finally, organizers emphasized that this is a “pet-friendly” event, encouraging people to attend with their pets. The festival will also include all necessary safety measures, including the presence of ambulances, civil protection personnel, police officers, and appropriate cleaning protocols.
