Firefighters responding to a fire in the Cancún hotel zone

Cancún, January 21. – Members of the Cancún Fire Department mobilized to attend to a fire that originated in a green area located in front of a lodging center in the hotel zone.

The incident primarily consumed grasslands, leaf litter, and other natural materials, in addition to damaging a portion of the property’s perimeter fence.

The fire report immediately activated emergency services, who arrived at the site to carry out containment and cooling operations.

Thanks to the timely intervention of the personnel, it was possible to prevent the flames from spreading towards the hotel’s facilities, thereby guaranteeing the physical integrity of guests, employees, and people circulating in the area at that moment.

After concluding the extinguishing maneuvers, authorities confirmed that there were no injured persons, nor anyone intoxicated by smoke.

For their part, fire department personnel called on citizens and visitors to avoid discarding cigarette butts or trash in green areas, as these materials can cause this type of incident, especially in areas of high tourist traffic.
