Mérida, Yucatán — The original FIFA World Cup Trophy will go on public display in Mérida, Mexico, for two days in March as part of a global promotional tour ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which Mexico will co-host with the United States and Canada.
Coca-Cola México and its local bottling partner Bepensa announced the trophy’s visit to the Yucatán Peninsula capital. The trophy will be exhibited at the Centro Internacional de Congresos on March 21 and 22.
Admission to the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour, presented by Coca-Cola, will be free but requires prior registration through an official online platform. Visitors must enter a daily lottery for a chance to win a double pass for a specific date and time slot.
How to Attend
Fans can register at the official Coca-Cola website. The process involves:
- Registering with an email address and validating it with a verification code.
- Entering a daily draw for a double pass.
- If selected, choosing Mérida as the location and an available date and time.
- Receiving a QR code for entry.
Winning passes are valid only for the selected date and time. Unsuccessful entrants can try again the following day.
Attendees will have an opportunity to take an official photograph with the trophy during an immersive football-themed experience.
The trophy leaves the FIFA Museum in Switzerland only for this global tour and for the World Cup tournament itself. Its visit to Mérida marks a historic moment as Mexico hosts the World Cup for the third time, with the 2026 edition set to be the largest in history.
Coca-Cola, a longtime FIFA partner, organizes the tour to celebrate football’s global appeal. Local partner Bepensa facilitates the Mérida event, highlighting the company’s regional community ties.
