CTM Leader Detained for 2018 Homicide in Cancún

Cancún, Quintana Roo — The General Attorney’s Office (FGE) of Quintana Roo confirmed the arrest of José Isidro “N”, the state leader of the Mexican Workers’ Confederation (CTM), for his alleged involvement in the crime of aggravated homicide against a man, which occurred on July 17, 2018, in the municipality of Benito Juárez. The information was released on November 21, 2025, at 12:15 p.m., through Communication 406/2025-FDN.

According to the FGE, the arrest warrant was issued by a Control Judge after gathering evidence linking the union leader to the events recorded seven years ago. The procedure was carried out by elements of the Investigation Police, assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Combating Homicide Crimes.

Agents intercepted José Isidro “N” as he was about to enter a hearing at the Federal Judicial Power headquarters, located in Supermanzana 50 of Cancún. The leader was attending a hearing for the revocation of precautionary measures that he allegedly violated in a federal criminal process for human trafficking in the modality of prostitution of others, a judicial case initiated in 2019 for which he was detained for more than three years.

Regarding the homicide case, the Prosecutor’s Office detailed that the investigations indicate that the now detainee had accused the victim of having stolen money, jewelry, and high-end watches from his property. These events allegedly occurred inside the union offices where José Isidro “N” served as leader. The complaint and investigation data allowed for the issuance of the arrest warrant, which remained in effect.

After his capture, José Isidro “N” was transferred and placed at the disposal of the corresponding Control Judge. Within the established legal term, the judge will determine his legal status based on the evidence gathered by the Prosecutor’s Office.
