Mexico — Mexican contestant Fátima Bosch, who recently won the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, stated that there is a hate campaign against her following a wave of criticism on social media after questions from a former judge of the competition.

Bosch’s participation in this contest has been marred by scandals from the beginning, which earned her feminist support but also accusations that her victory was manipulated.

“In recent days I have received insults and attacks and even death wishes for one single reason, because I won,” wrote the 25-year-old model and designer on Instagram.

In an extensive message, Bosch said she is “a woman who, like millions in the world, has experienced firsthand the violence that stems from hate, from misinformation, from the inability of some to see a woman shine.”

Accusations of Fraud and Judge Resignations in Miss Universe 2025

The cascade of criticism began two days before her coronation, with the resignation of two of the eight judges of the competition.

One of them, Frenchman Omar Harfouch, said in a statement on Instagram that the competition was rigged by a “secret and illegitimate vote” held without the official jury.

“This vote was carried out by people who are not recognized members of the official jury,” wrote the French composer, questioning the transparency of the process and the selection of semifinalists.

One of the messages directed at Bosch on social media, which she reproduced in her post, says: “I hope you die tomorrow. You and your family! Fraud! What a shame! I hope you never find happiness and your karma comes soon. Die, bitch!”

Controversies Surrounding Fátima Bosch and Business Ties

To this controversy were added publications later disseminated in Mexican media, which question alleged business dealings between Bernardo Bosch, the young woman’s father, and the president of the Miss Universe pageant, Raúl Rocha, also Mexican.

Weeks before starring in the final, the Mexican contestant had an altercation with an executive of the pageant, who allegedly questioned her and even called her “stupid” for an apparent failure to post content on her social media.

Then, Bosch angrily left the room, followed by some of her fellow contestants who showed solidarity with her and criticized the treatment she received.

“The world must witness this, because we are independent women and this space allows us to make our voices heard,” she said on that occasion to the press in Thailand, the host country of Miss Universe 2025.
