Tulum, Mexico — Violence once again struck the coastal zone of Tulum on Thursday when a man was executed in a shooting inside Mateo’s Mexican Grill restaurant while dining with his young son. The attack occurred in broad daylight in front of dozens of tourists and diners who witnessed the bloody scene.

According to initial reports, armed individuals entered the establishment and fired directly at the victim, a man approximately 44 years old, whose body was left lying inside the restaurant.

The child, a direct witness to the murder, was shielded by restaurant staff until authorities arrived. The incident caused moments of panic and confusion among customers and employees.

Elements of the National Guard and Municipal Police quickly arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area while forensic experts from the State Attorney General’s Office conducted the body removal and corresponding investigations.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and there is no official information regarding the victim’s identity or the motive behind the crime.

This latest act of violence follows a recent attack in Tulum, where a man lost his life in a shooting at a pizzeria. Authorities have yet to establish a connection between the two incidents.

Investigations remain ongoing as law enforcement works to identify the perpetrators and determine the circumstances surrounding the execution.
