Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, December 6, 2025. The Frida Kahlo Museum invited students from the School of Artistic Initiation Associated with INBAL (EMIAA) to three guided tours to better understand the life and work of the Mexican artist this December.
The General Director of the Municipal Institute of Culture and Arts of Playa del Carmen, Ernesto Santiago Martínez Cuéllar, thanked this invitation as part of the alliance established by Municipal President Estefanía Mercado with various cultural sectors in Playa del Carmen.
Elementary and high school students from the fifth semester participated in audiovisual experiences and obtained information about the emblematic works of the painter of Hungarian-German descent, who lived in the first half of the last century.
In total, 100 students from the third and fifth semesters of elementary and high school will be at this center during December. Present were the Deputy Director of Artistic Promotion and Education of the Institute, Irma Birruete, the academic coordinator, Rosario Rodríguez Miranda, and professors Miriam Velasco and Fernanda Illescas.
“I want to invite families now to stay tuned because in February, registrations will begin for the School of Artistic Initiation associated with INBAL, and, with the great support of our Municipal President Estefanía Mercado, we will open the doors of this school in the Puerto Aventuras municipality, so that all girls, boys, and young people have the opportunity to develop their artistic talent,” informed the General Director of the Municipal Institute of Culture and Arts of Playa del Carmen.
