Mexico — The fifteenth edition of El Buen Fin is introducing a technological innovation that promises to transform the shopping experience for millions of Mexicans. For the first time in the history of the event, all participating establishments will be required to visibly display a QR code that consumers can scan to access crucial information about the legitimacy of the business and its participation in the campaign. This measure, established in the 2025 operating rules, represents a significant advance toward commercial transparency and consumer protection.

What Information Does the QR Code Contain?

The El Buen Fin QR code functions as an instant verification tool that buyers can use directly from their mobile phones. Upon scanning the code, consumers will access fundamental data, including the official name of the company, a description of the business, and its complete address. More importantly, the verification will confirm whether the establishment is formally registered to participate in El Buen Fin, granting customers the legal certainty that their purchases will be valid for entry into the event's official raffle.

This implementation responds to the need to combat deceptive commercial practices and ensure consumers make their purchases at authorized establishments. The system not only protects the buyer but also recognizes and validates the businesses that comply with all the requirements established by the El Buen Fin organizers.

The Registration Process for Participating Companies

Registered companies must follow a specific protocol to generate their official QR code. The process begins by accessing the portal https://www.elbuenfin.org/inicio, where establishments must provide all required data for each participating branch. Once the registration is complete, the system automatically generates the QR code image available for download in the "Registered companies" section.

The mandatory display requirement applies to both physical promotional materials, such as point-of-sale advertising, and digital channels, including websites and social media. This uniformity in presentation makes it easier for consumers to perform quick verification regardless of where they find the promotion, creating a standard of trust at all points of contact between companies and customers.

Requirements to Participate in the Official Raffle

Consumers interested in participating in the El Buen Fin raffle must meet several specific requirements. Eligible purchases must have a minimum value of 250 pesos and be made exclusively with official electronic payment methods during the event period, which will run from November 13 to November 17, 2025. It is essential that transactions are conducted only at establishments successfully registered in the program.

For micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, registration is particularly crucial, as it allows them not only to participate as sellers but also to access the benefits of the special raffle destined for this business segment. The complete rules, terms, conditions, and requirements of the raffle are publicly available on the SAT portal at https://www.sat.gob.mx, guaranteeing total transparency in the process.

The Official App and Other Technological Innovations

One of the most significant novelties for this fifteenth-anniversary edition is the launch of the official El Buen Fin 2025 app, which will be available starting November 13. José María Abascal, leader of Concanaco-Servytur, explained during a press conference that this application will allow users to "visualize the promotions also on the portal elbuenfinconcanaco.com.mx," centralizing information and facilitating the shopping experience.

The application will include functions designed to optimize shopping planning, such as geolocation of participating businesses, filters by product categories, and the ability to save favorite promotions. As Abascal highlighted, "through this mechanism they are going to guarantee that their purchases are made in formally and also registered establishments," adding an additional layer of security for consumers.

"Viernes Muy Mexicano" and the Boost for Local Commerce

El Buen Fin 2025 strengthens its commitment to local and community commerce through the platform "Viernes Muy Mexicano," an initiative that promotes the consumption of national products throughout the year and receives a special boost during the November event. This platform aligns perfectly with the spirit of the XV edition, which features "Lo Hecho en México" as a special protagonist, with the clear objective of boosting products created by Mexican hands and strengthening internal consumption.

The focus on Mexican products represents a conscious economic strategy that seeks to reactivate local economies and recognize the quality of national goods. This anniversary edition not only celebrates fifteen years of El Buen Fin but also pays homage to Mexican talent and its productive capacity.

Expected Figures and Special Commemoration

Projections for this anniversary edition are particularly optimistic, with an expected economic spillover exceeding 200,000 million pesos and the participation of more than 200,000 businesses and companies across the national territory. The favorable scenario is enhanced by the coincidence with a holiday weekend, as Monday, November 17 will be a mandatory day of rest due to the moved observance of the Mexican Revolution Day.

As part of the celebrations for the XV years, the National Lottery will issue a commemorative ticket for the anniversary of El Buen Fin, a tradition that "recognizes the effort of commerce, large commerce, small commerce, commerce from across the country," in the words of the organizers. This special ticket represents a homage to Mexico's commercial history and a symbolic prize for those who "bet on Mexico every day," providing a fitting end to an edition that combines technological innovation with national pride.
