Cancún, Mexico — A driver fled the scene after their vehicle overturned onto the bike path along Boulevard Kukulcán in Cancún’s Hotel Zone earlier today. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m.
Collision Details
The red Peugeot 206 was traveling eastbound when the driver reportedly lost control, veering sharply to the right. The car struck a sidewalk curb, overturned, and knocked down several palm trees before coming to rest in the middle of the designated bike lane.
Authorities confirmed the driver abandoned the damaged vehicle and left the area before emergency responders arrived. Traffic officers secured the scene and coordinated the removal of the overturned car.
No injuries were reported, though the collision disrupted access to the bike path. An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
