Cozumel, Quintana Roo — The island of Cozumel is kicking off 2026 with intense tourism activity, with 30 cruise ships scheduled to arrive during the week of January 5 to 11, according to the official calendar of the Integral Port Administration of Quintana Roo (Apiqroo).
The period is shaping up to be one of the most dynamic of the season, with a high influx of luxury vessels arriving in stages at the island’s three maritime terminals: Puerta Maya, SSA Mexico, and Punta Langosta.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will see the highest flow of tourists, as the largest number of ships will be concentrated simultaneously, generating significant mobility in the tourist zone and the city center.
Among the most notable arrivals is the Star of the Seas from Royal Caribbean, scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, joining other large cruise ships such as the MSC World America and the Norwegian Encore.
Authorities and service providers consider this intense activity to represent significant economic spillover for businesses, transporters, and companies dedicated to tourism and nautical services, strengthening the local economy from the first days of the year.
