Cozumel, Mexico — With an atmosphere of celebration, identity, and island pride, the Cozumel Carnival 2026 officially began on Saturday, January 17, under the slogan “The Island Shines Again.” This year, the festival commemorates 152 years of uninterrupted history, solidifying its status as one of the oldest and most representative in Mexico and the Caribbean.

The central focus of this edition is its ambitious musical lineup, which will bring together national and international artists from various genres, designed for audiences of all ages.

Pre-Carnival: Concerts from January

Activities began with the so-called Pre-Carnival, which will take place from January 17 to February 8 at the Moby Dick Events Center, a space that was expanded to accommodate a larger number of attendees.

The start of these celebrations was led by the presentation of the candidates for Carnival Kings and Queens 2026, accompanied by a concert by Gloria Trevi, one of the most anticipated artists of this edition.

The musical agenda will continue on Friday, February 6 with the Diversity Kings voting night, featuring performances by Wapayasos and Juana Guadalupe, a finalist from La Más Draga season 6.

Saturday, February 7 will be the Youth Kings voting night and the farewell of the 2025 court, with a concert by Venezuelan singer-songwriter Lasso.

To close the Pre-Carnival, on Sunday, February 8, the presentation of the Children’s Kings will take place, which will include for the second consecutive year a special concert for children by Luli Pampín.

The Main Lineup: February 11 to 18

The main dates of the Carnival will run from February 11 to 18, with a combination of parades, contests, and massive concerts at various points on the island.

On Saturday, February 14, the first major carnival parade will take place, starting at 6:00 p.m. from the Municipal Palace. Afterwards, the Moby Dick Events Center will host the costume contest and a concert by María José, while Parque Quintana Roo will feature a popular concert with Los Súper Lamas and the participation of Raquel Bigorra.

Tropical Rhythms and Dance Nights

On Sunday, February 15, the second major parade will be held, followed by the traditional Tropical Night at Moby Dick, which will include the Torito Wacax Che contest, the presentation of the 2026 royal court, and concerts by Los Socios del Ritmo and Alexander Acha.

Simultaneously, Parque Quintana Roo will offer a popular dance with a Tabascan theme led by Chico Che Chico and a double concert by Che Maney.

For Monday, February 16, a stellar concert is scheduled at the APIQROO, whose artist will be revealed during the carnival activities.

The closing will arrive on Tuesday, February 17 with the third and final carnival parade. That night, Parque Quintana Roo will vibrate with the presentation of Margarita, la Diosa de la Cumbia, followed by a double concert by Junior Klan.
