Shocking Shooting at Cozumel Gathering Leaves Teen Injured

A couple was targeted in a shooting incident in Cozumel during a gathering near the Félix González Canto neighborhood. A 16-year-old girl, presumed to be involved, suffered injuries to her right leg.

Eyewitnesses report that the couple was in the backyard of a house situated at the intersection of Efraín Flores Peraza street and Félix González avenue. Suddenly, two individuals on a motorcycle opened fire on them, discharging at least nine rounds.

Following a 911 call, criminal investigators arrived at the scene. They discovered two shell casings on the street, two more in the backyard of the house, and several others near a motorcycle.

The municipal police, state police, elements from the Secretaría de Marina-Armada de México (SEMAR), and Army personnel were also present at the scene.

A private paramedic team transported the injured teenager to the hospital for further medical treatment.

The identities of the victims and the alleged perpetrators of this violent incident, which occurred on the island of Cozumel, are yet to be revealed.
