Shocking Arrest: Couple Busted with Drugs in Playa del Carmen

In the Villas del Sol neighborhood of Playa del Carmen, a man and a woman were arrested by local police on suspicion of marijuana possession. The individuals, identified as 52-year-old Emiliano "N" from Michoacán and 42-year-old Leslie "N" from Mexico City, were apprehended on Chit Street.

The arrest occurred after police officers observed the pair exchanging what appeared to be packages of drugs and attempting to mount a Vento brand motorcycle without license plates. Upon inspection, authorities found a package and six bags containing a plant-like substance, believed to be marijuana, among the couple's possessions.

Following their arrest, the couple was handed over to the Special Prosecutor's Office for Crimes against Health in its Retail Drug Trafficking division. The office will determine their legal status in due course.
