In Playa del Carmen's 28 de Julio neighborhood, two individuals were apprehended by the Solidaridad Municipal Police. The suspects were found with 24 potential doses of various narcotics.
While patrolling Misión del Carmen avenue, the officers observed the suspects, a 35-year-old woman from Chiapas named Yazmín and a 39-year-old man from Campeche named José, in what appeared to be a drug exchange.
Upon further inspection, the police discovered three packages of a substance believed to be marijuana, 18 pills suspected to be ecstasy, two packages of a potential methamphetamine, and one package of a substance resembling cocaine.
Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) for further investigation and potential prosecution.
