CANCÚN — Parque Cancún will serve as the venue for the first Nocturnal Picnic in Cancún, known as Astro Picnic, on September 21. The free event, which will feature an astronomical function, promises a unique experience under the stars.
Activities will commence with a reception at 6:30 p.m., and the main event will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Attendees are required to bring their own hydration, light food, repellent, one lamp per group, a mat or blanket, and a bag for waste, in adherence to a "Zero Waste" policy.
Preregistration is mandatory due to limited capacity and can be completed through the official Parque Cancún website.
Earlier in the day, the Somos Naturalistas Festival will offer a session dedicated to exploring local biodiversity using the iNaturalist application, inviting participants to discover the flora and fauna of the Área Natural Protegida Manglares de Nichupté.
Parque Cancún, a Civil Society Organization and authorized donee, emphasized that these activities are made possible through community donations. These contributions fund the maintenance of its 18 gardens, the protection of local biodiversity, and the organization of artistic and cultural workshops.
