Cancún continues to strengthen its position as a leading tourism hotspot, having won four categories at the World Travel Awards 2024 (WTA). This is an improvement on the previous year, where it won two awards.
The categories in which Cancún triumphed were "Leading City Tourism Office of Mexico and Central America 2024", "Leading Destination of Mexico and Central America Cities 2024", "Mexico and Central America's Leading Meetings & Conference Destination 2024", and "Mexico's Leading Beach Destination 2024".
These awards underscore the city's popularity among tourists, businesspeople, and industry experts. Cancún is a preferred destination for many, thanks to its stunning natural beauty and high-quality service.
It's also worth noting that Cancún's airport, in conjunction with those in Mexico City and Guadalajara, offers over 25 million seats in international service. This places Cancún among the top destinations with the most scheduled seats on international flights.
