Cancún, Quintana Roo — Cancún is preparing for a major athletic and family celebration with the organization of the Friendship Race, an event that has become established among racing competitors.
This major event will take place on February 15, 2026, starting at seven in the morning within Parque Cancún, a great venue for athletes.
It is worth remembering that this Friendship Race is the first competition one hundred percent for the benefit of Parque Cancún, a space that today represents an example of urban transformation: from having been the city’s first landfill, it became a natural, safe, and sustainable environment, serving all Cancún families.
Similarly, it is notable that a quarter of its activities are of a sporting nature, motivating and supporting pedestrian athletes.
The competition is promoted by the Patronato del Parque Cancún and its management team, led by César Barrios, director of Parque Cancún; Jazmín Garnica, program coordinator; Noemí Constandse, founder of the Patronato; and Armando Macías, race director, who have made this event a benchmark among the sports community.
This event will feature distances of five and nine kilometers, in addition to a recreational three-kilometer walk.
The starting point will be the La Ballena entrance and the finish line will be located at Jardín Nubes, traveling along trails that highlight the natural beauty of the park.
The category is open, so all athletes who wish to compete can participate, with the absolute winners being the first places in each category, who will be awarded at the end of the event.
It is worth noting that the presence of 600 runners is expected, and registration will close with the delivery of kits on Saturday, February 14, at Parque Cancún, with the registration cost being 350 pesos, which includes hydration, a visor with number, and a commemorative medal upon crossing the finish line.
