Tourist rescued from drowning in Cancún’s Playa Delfines

Rescue operation at Playa Delfines beach in Cancún

Cancún, Mexico — The Fire Department of Cancún carried out a successful rescue at Playa Delfines, saving a tourist who was in danger of drowning.

At 14:45 hours on December 7, Base Two supervisor Janner Lázaro reported that firefighter and lifeguard personnel, led by Ernesto Barboza, responded to the area.

The assisted individual was identified as Eleazar Vences, a 25-year-old man originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco. Vences was approximately 60 meters from shore and unable to return to land because he did not know how to swim.

The team’s rapid intervention allowed them to bring the male to the beach without him presenting any health complications.

Subsequently, despite personnel proceeding to conduct a routine examination, the tourist decided to leave the area without permitting medical assessment.

The Fire Department reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of residents and visitors, highlighting the promptness and efficiency in responding to maritime emergencies.
