Yesterday, reports emerged about the disappearance of a British man, Alex Charles Murray, who has been missing since June 1st in Playa del Carmen.
The State Attorney General's Office issued a search notice on June 7, six days after Murray was last seen in the popular tourist destination.
Mexican authorities have yet to release further details about Murray's last known whereabouts or why a week passed before his disappearance was reported. It remains unclear whether Murray was traveling alone or accompanied by friends or family.
In related news, there was mention of the tragic incident involving British businessman Chris Cleave. Cleave, who was shot dead in front of his daughter in March 2022, also resided in Playa del Carmen.
Cleave, 54, originally from Truro in Cornwall, had been living in the Riviera Maya for several years and owned a successful real estate business.
