Body Found Wrapped in Sheets in Cancún’s Region 226

Cancún, Quintana Roo — The lifeless body of an individual, presumed to be male, was discovered on the morning of Tuesday, April 29, in a brush-covered area of Cancún’s Region 226. The remains were located near Block 43, on Calle 82 between Avenidas Kabah, 20 de Noviembre, and Cenote Azul.

Discovery and Initial Response

Residents alerted emergency services (911) after noticing a suspicious bundle in the green space. Personnel from the Benito Juárez Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security and Transit arrived at the scene and confirmed the presence of a corpse wrapped in sheets and placed inside a bag.

Preliminary reports indicated the body bore apparent signs of torture and possible execution. However, the victim’s identity and exact cause of death will be determined through an official autopsy. Unofficial sources suggested the deceased may have been a slender man with dark skin and visible injuries.

Ongoing Investigation

As of the publication of this report, the case remains under investigation by the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office (FGE). Ministerial agents and forensic experts conducted on-site procedures, cordoned off the area, and transported the body to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for further examination. Authorities will perform forensic studies to establish the victim’s identity and the motive behind the crime.
