A lifeless body was discovered in the trunk of a parked car in the Ejido neighborhood of Playa del Carmen on Tuesday afternoon. The vehicle was located on 120th Avenue with 10th Street. This unsettling discovery was made shortly after another person was fatally shot in the Villas del Sol subdivision.
Authorities were alerted to a potential homicide around 1:00 pm, leading to a swift response. The Municipal Police were the first to arrive at the scene, securing the area and maintaining a cordoned-off perimeter while investigations were underway on 120th Avenue with 10th Street.
Early evidence suggests the victim may have been tortured and murdered before being placed in the car trunk. However, these initial findings are still under investigation and should be considered preliminary information.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene but were unfortunately only able to confirm the person's death. The body was subsequently removed from the trunk and transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for an official autopsy.
The investigation has been handed over to the Ministerial Police, who have begun searching for clues to identify the individual or individuals responsible for this crime. Forensic experts also attended the scene, collecting evidence and conducting necessary procedures to shed light on the homicide's details.
It's worth noting that this incident was reported just minutes before a man was shot while riding a motorcycle in Villas del Sol, near the fifth park. At this time, the identities of both victims remain unknown.
