A man was found dead with gunshot wounds in Tulum, Mexico. His body was discovered on a ranch along the Tulum-Cobá state highway, where it appears he was killed and left.
At around 11 am yesterday, a local resident reported to the Macario Gómez community office that there was a body near kilometer 12+950 of the highway, close to the Tierra del Edén nursery.
In response, local police officers arrived at the scene within minutes. They found the man lying on a dirt road with two gunshot wounds – one in the back and another in the head.
The area was quickly secured by the Municipal Police and the Mexican Army. The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) then took over, removing the body to the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO) for further examination.
The man's identity remains unknown, and no official statement has been made regarding the incident.
