Drug Raid in Chetumal Leads to Property Seizure

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), in coordination with the National Guard, Quintana Roo Police, Municipal Police, and State Transit Police, raided and secured a property that allegedly operated as a drug sales point in Chetumal, the capital of Quintana Roo.

The operation was carried out on the night of Tuesday, January 20, as part of actions against drug retail sales in the city.

According to official information, the events occurred when agents from the Ministerial Police, along with federal, state, and municipal authorities, arrived at a blue-colored house located on Jesús Urueta Street, between Ramón F. Iturbide and Calzada Veracruz.

They arrived at the location aboard several official vehicles to comply with a search warrant issued by a control judge.

Upon exiting the vehicles, ministerial police officers, forensic experts, and a prosecutor from the Public Ministry proceeded to the residence to begin the corresponding judicial procedure. Simultaneously, elements of the Quintana Roo Police and Transit Police cordoned off the area to prevent the passage of pedestrians and vehicles, with the aim of ensuring security during the operation.

Drug Seized and Property Placed at Disposal of Public Ministry

For over an hour, forensic experts and the prosecutor inspected the interior of the property. As a result of the raid, authorities seized a quantity of drugs, whose type and volume were not specified. After concluding the inspection, the residence was secured for the corresponding legal purposes.

Finally, personnel from the Attorney General’s Office placed seizure seals on the fence of the house, which was placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry due to its alleged connection with drug retail sales activities.

Investigations will continue to determine responsibilities and the possible seizure of more individuals related to this alleged drug sales point in Chetumal.
