New AirCanada Route Boosts Tulum Tourism!

AirCanada, the Canadian airline, has announced the launch of a new permanent flight route from Toronto to Tulum International Airport, commencing on May 3rd. This move is expected to increase the number of visitors from Canada to the Riviera Maya and potentially other southern destinations.

David Ortiz Mena, President of the Tulum Hotel Association, has noted the rapid success of the "Felipe Carrillo Puerto" airport. This success is due to the high number of domestic flights and the impressive passenger turnout shortly after its inauguration. The addition of international routes, initially from the United States and now from Canada, has also contributed to this success. Mena anticipates that routes from Europe will soon follow.

Mena emphasized that Canada is a significant market for Tulum and the Riviera Maya. He predicts that the number of Canadian visitors will likely rise in 2024 and 2025. Notably, this new route does not detract from Cancun's routes, and it is not a seasonal route. Mena expressed that AirCanada is fully committed to supporting Tulum Airport with this new route.
