Shocking Cancún Taxi Accident: 7 Injured, Driver Flees!

A vehicular collision in Cancún resulted in seven injuries after a taxi veered into another lane, colliding with a private vehicle on José López Portillo Avenue. Eyewitnesses reported that the taxi driver responsible for the accident fled the scene, presumably to avoid arrest.

The accident involved taxi number 5626 from the "Andrés Quintana Roo" union and a gray Vento-type private car. The incident occurred near the entrance to Paraíso Maya, in front of the Santa Cecilia neighborhood, around 9 p.m.

Initial reports suggest that there were four passengers in the taxi, including the driver, and three additional individuals in the private vehicle. Bystanders who witnessed the accident promptly alerted authorities via the emergency number 911.

Police officers arrived at the scene shortly after to investigate the incident and requested paramedic assistance for the injured. The collision resulted in seven injuries, with victims transported to various hospitals for medical treatment. Among the injured were an elderly woman and a minor, who sustained a leg fracture.

Eyewitness reports suggest that the taxi driver, believed to be responsible for the accident, fled the scene to evade arrest. The authorities are continuing their investigation to locate the driver, and his identity remains unknown at this time.
