Bacalar, Mexico — Businessman Samuel Jaime Acuña Jenkin has publicly reported being a victim of harassment, threats, and an attempted property seizure in Bacalar, directly implicating municipal president José Alfredo Contreras Méndez "Chepe," municipal treasurer Paul Romero, and a private individual identified as Luis Justo Carrión Cuéllar.
Public Accusation and Appeal to the Governor
In a statement directed to Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, the businessman recounted that on September 13 he was deprived of his liberty under irregular circumstances, accused of crimes he described as fabricated in Cancún. He asserted that these events are linked to a presumed attempt to seize his business, Itzá Bar & Brasa, located in the El Aserradero beach area.
Legal Precedents
Acuña Jenkin recalled that in 2023 he filed the complaint "Sge/Qro/Bac12/677/2023" for threats, fraud, and property seizure against Carrión Cuéllar, whom he pointed to as facing multiple legal processes. However, he stated that the complaint was "shelved" and has not been followed up.
Holds Municipal Authorities Responsible
In the same statement, he held the implicated authorities responsible for any physical or property damage that he, his wife—Russian citizen Viktoriya Ankudinova—and his collaborators might suffer. He added that he has been a victim of physical aggression that caused injuries to his left ear, and he stated that he has not received corresponding medical attention or diplomatic support.
Demands Justice and Protection
"I implore the help of the governor, recognized as one of the best leaders in the country, to stop this injustice and protect our integrity," expressed the businessman in his message.
