Woman Held for Tulum Street Stabbing Death

Tulum, Mexico — A woman identified as Maricarmen “N” was detained by elements of the State Attorney General's Office in coordination with the Secretary of Public Security and Citizen Protection. She is alleged to be responsible for the homicide of a man whose body was found on Tulum Avenue, at the corner of Beta Sur, in the downtown colonia.

According to official information, the event occurred during the early morning of October 1. Security cameras captured the woman approaching the victim, who was sleeping in front of the facade of the vegan restaurant La Hoja Verde. The footage shows her attacking him with a bladed weapon, inflicting mortal wounds before leaving him to his fate.

The man's body was located around 4:30 a.m., presenting puncture wounds to the jaw and chest. The chest wound compromised a vital organ, resulting in his death at the scene. The identity of the deceased remains unknown at this time.

The detention of the alleged perpetrator was achieved thanks to the analysis of video recordings from nearby establishments and the Center for Control, Command, Communication, and Computing. During the operation, Maricarmen “N” was found in possession of the bladed weapon believed to have been used to commit the crime.

Ministerial authorities reported that the woman has been placed at the disposal of the State Attorney General's Office as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of homicide, where the corresponding legal process will be carried out.

The motives that led the aggressor to take the man's life are currently unknown. Investigations continue to clarify the facts and determine the circumstances surrounding the homicide in Tulum.
