K9 Dog Sniffs Out Alleged Cancún Drug Dealer

Cancún, Mexico — The Attorney General's Office of the State of Quintana Roo announced the arrest of an alleged drug dealer, facilitated by the acute sense of smell of a member of the K9 Unit, Grupo K9, in Cancún's Supermanzana 23.

According to surveillance reports, officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security located an individual dragging an unpowered black motorcycle near Chichén Itzá Avenue, almost at the corner with Jabín 9, block 30.

Due to this, the officers approached to offer their assistance. At that exact moment, the canine team named "Kinich" began to bark and move, a positive indication of the presence of narcotics. To avoid any possibility of risk, a routine inspection of the individual was carried out.

Ultimately, Víctor Hugo "N" was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General's Office's Specialized Unit Combating Drug Dealing. Authorities confiscated from him a bag containing dry grass with characteristics similar to marijuana, 13 small bags with the same narcotic, and an Italika brand motorcycle, model WS 175 Sport, in black, blue, and white colors, with Quintana Roo license plates. He remains awaiting the due process of his prosecution.
