FIFA has unveiled the official mascots for the 2026 World Cup, the first edition of the tournament to be co-hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States. The chosen characters are Maple, a Canadian moose; Zayu, a Mexican jaguar; and Clutch, an American eagle. Each one embodies the values, culture, and sporting spirit of its host country.

The decision to introduce three mascots reinforced the message that the 2026 World Cup will be more than just a tournament. Each character was designed to represent their country’s iconic fauna and their role within the game.

Maple, the Canadian moose, is a goal keeper. Zayu, the Mexican jaguar, plays as a forward. Clutch, the American eagle, is a midfielder.

This distribution also symbolized the collaboration between the three nations, where each contributes a key piece to the most important sporting event on the planet.
