Playa del Carmen, Q.Roo — The municipal DIF system, through its Directorate of Attention to Childhood, participated in the third ordinary session of the Council for the Provision of Services for the Attention, Care and Integral Child Development (Copsadii), where it presented advancements benefiting early childhood.
Representing the municipality, the DIF's general director, Jesús Rodríguez, accompanied by the head of Attention to Childhood, Maira Olvera, presented the achievements to the deputy director of Childhood and Adolescence of the Quintana Roo DIF system, Aliana Ortega, as well as directors of municipal DIF systems and institutions such as Civil Protection, Cofepris, Infeqroo, Sipinna, and the State Attorney General's Office.
During the session, progress at the four Child Development Attention Centers (CADI) in the Guadalupana, Ejido, Nicte-Ha, and Puerto Aventuras neighborhoods was highlighted, underscoring the contrast between the conditions in which they were received and the improvements in infrastructure, maintenance, regulations, and social services.
Among the principal achievements are the updating of internal regulations; strengthening of the legal area; renovation of the nutrition area; free management of health cards; and creation of unique child records.
Also noted were the expansion of the psychology team; permanent supervisions and trainings from Civil Protection and the State DIF; as well as improvements in school and financial control, strengthening close and empathetic attention towards families.
In follow-up to the instructions of the municipal president and the honorary president of the DIF, Eduardo Asencio, the project to open two new centers was emphasized: CADI Petén, with a capacity for 102 minors, and a combined CADI and CECI for 218 in total. Both spaces will reinforce coverage and attend to the growing demand for children's services in Playa del Carmen.
