Cancún — The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) requested and obtained a search warrant from a control judge for three properties located in the Supermanzana 66 district of this city. Fourteen women of Mexican nationality, identified as presumed victims of acts possibly constituting the crime of human trafficking in its modality of prostitution for others, were located and taken into protective custody.

The judicial orders were executed on Calle 18, in blocks 2, 3, and 10 of Supermanzana 66, where the 14 women were located. The women were providing sexual services for which they charged 250 pesos, from which the establishment benefited with a commission of 50 pesos.

It should be noted that the logbooks found and secured in the searched properties indicate that the weekly revenue from the commissions paid by the victims amounted to between 30,000 and 40,000 pesos.

After concluding the procedures, the three properties were secured with the placement of corresponding seals to indicate that they are now under the custody of the Social Representation. The 14 women were taken into protective custody due to their vulnerable situation and are receiving corresponding medical and psychological attention.
