Free Pet Rabies Shots in Cancún

Cancún, Mexico — On the occasion of World Rabies Day, observed annually on September 28, Municipal President Ana Paty Peralta has announced the start of a free anti-rabies vaccination campaign aimed at dogs and cats in the city.

The campaign will run from September 28 to October 3, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the facilities of the General Directorate of Animal Protection and Welfare.

2,100 Vaccines Available

According to the Mayor, a total of 2,100 doses will be administered, with an average of 350 vaccines per day. The objective is to protect the health of pets and prevent the transmission of rabies within the population.

Requirements for Participation

Cancún residents may bring their pets provided they meet the following conditions:

  • Animals must be healthy and over three months of age.
  • Animals must not be pregnant or nursing.
  • Dogs must be on a leash.
  • Cats must be in a carrier.

Animal Welfare and Public Health

"With this campaign, we reaffirm our commitment to public health, animal welfare, and the prevention of diseases. We invite all Cancún residents to take advantage of this free vaccination drive, because animal welfare is the responsibility of all of us," stated Ana Paty Peralta.
