TULUM — Security forces have detained a man who was caught masturbating on Tulum Avenue, in front of a bank ATM and a supermarket, causing alarm among pedestrians and customers in the area.
According to testimonies from neighbors, this is not the first time the individual has engaged in similar conduct. They reported that in the Villas Tulum neighborhood, the man has been frequently seen naked, relieving himself in public, and, it is alleged, he even inappropriately handled a dog, which has increased outrage in the community.
The incident, which occurred in broad daylight, caused annoyance and concern, especially among women who travel through the area and stated they feel threatened by this type of behavior. "It is a risk both for the safety of people and for animals," expressed some neighbors.
Following his detention, authorities reported that the case will be followed up with the goal of ensuring the individual does not represent a danger to the community. Furthermore, citizens were urged to maintain active reporting if they identify similar situations, in order to strengthen investigations and apply corresponding sanctions.
Residents of Villas Tulum reiterated their demand to municipal and state authorities to reinforce surveillance in the area, as they believe the man's repeat offenses reflect a lack of attention to a problem that directly affects the tranquility of inhabitants.
This case adds to a series of neighborhood reports related to improper conduct in public, which has highlighted the need for stricter measures to protect both citizens and animals in the municipality.
