Bacalar, Quintana Roo, Mexico — A body in an advanced state of decomposition was discovered on a path near the Tren Maya station in Bacalar, Quintana Roo. The victim was identified yesterday as Kevin Alexander Dzul Hernández, a 22-year-old who had been reported missing since September 18. He is believed to have been killed over a debt of 50,000 pesos.

Discovery on Aarón Merino Path

According to initial reports, the discovery was made on Monday around 12:30 p.m. on the stretch known as Aarón Merino. Municipal Police officers responded to an emergency call to verify the situation. At the site, they located the corpse of a man, as well as a black Bajaj brand motorcycle with state license plates, allegedly linked to the missing young man. The body was found amongst the undergrowth.

A piece of poster board with a message attributed to a criminal organization was found next to the body. The text contained threats directed at several individuals identified by their full names, allegedly related to disputes in the southern part of the state. The writing referenced a supposed debt of 50,000 pesos, the loss of merchandise, and the execution of someone nicknamed "K23" on the banks of the Río Hondo in Othón P. Blanco.

Victim Identification

The State Attorney General's Office confirmed the identification of the body. The young man, a Mexican national, had dark skin, a robust build, straight black hair, and dark brown eyes. He was 1.70 meters tall, weighed 80 kilograms, and had a tattoo in the shape of a moon on his right pectoral muscle, characteristics that matched the missing person report.

Forensic experts from the Attorney General's Office carried out the removal of the body and transported it to the Forensic Medical Service for the legally required autopsy. The motorcycle and the poster with the message were taken into the custody of the investigating authorities as part of the ongoing procedures.
