Cancún — During a visit to see the dog Mila, who was rescued in the Tres Reyes neighborhood in August with over 70% of her skin detached due to an attack and is now restored to health, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa reiterated that her humanist government with a feminist heart will not permit any type of violence against any living being.

Support Received Was Key

Accompanied by the head of the Secretariat of Ecology and Environment (SEMA), Óscar Rébora, and Yuli from Cachorrilandia, the Governor confirmed that Mila has now recovered with the support of Cachorrilandia, which did a very good job by performing the necessary surgeries for her recovery, providing cages, and medications to bring her back to health.

Yuli, from Cachorrilandia, highlighted that she had the support of many people, including a recovery cage that was not previously available. She thanked everyone for the teamwork.

Governor Lezama Asks Public for Donations

For his part, Óscar Rébora stated that, following the instructions of Governor Mara Lezama, he coordinated with Cachorrilandia to provide care for Mila, who has demonstrated a will to live.

Mara Lezama urged the public to donate items their pets no longer use to support those in need. She also emphasized that acts of violence against pets will not be permitted.
