Isla Mujeres, Q. Roo — With the firm purpose of strengthening love, respect, and care for natural spaces among young people, the Isla Mujeres Government, through its Youth Directorate, successfully carried out the "Yo Amo Isla Mujeres" (I Love Isla Mujeres) program.

The event took place at the pet-friendly beach, with the participation of young people who joined various activities aimed at keeping Isla Mujeres clean, beautiful, and orderly.

During the cleanup brigade, the young participants collected a total of 206 kilograms of waste, which included 18.5 kg of PET plastic, 37.5 kg of glass, 1.5 kg of aluminum, and 148.5 kg of general trash.

The program's main objective was to sensitize youth about the importance of conserving natural spaces and to strengthen their sense of belonging to the island.

The Director of Youth, Axel Canché Pool, led the brigade and emphasized that these activities represent an opportunity to connect young people with concrete actions that benefit the entire community. Through this type of program, the administration of Atenea Gómez reinforces the importance of every resident, especially the new generations, feeling a part of the protection and beautification of the island.
