Cancún, Mexico — Rodrigo Pacheco Méndez, currently ranked as Mexico’s top tennis player, will compete in the Cancún Country Open 2025, set to take place from August 11 to 17 at the Cancún Country Club. The tournament solidifies its position as the most prestigious professional tennis event in southeastern Mexico.
Rising Star Leads Elite Field
At just 20 years old, Pacheco has rapidly ascended in the professional circuit. In July, he achieved his highest ATP ranking at No. 219, following a standout season that included a quarterfinal appearance at the Mexican Open in Acapulco (ATP 500) and strong performances in Challenger tournaments in Mérida, Cuernavaca, and San Luis Potosí.
A former world No. 1 in the ITF junior rankings in 2023 and a doubles champion at Roland Garros Junior, Pacheco will prepare for the US Open after his participation in Cancún.
International Talent Joins the Roster
The Europcar Cancún Country Open, presented by Telcel OPPO, will also feature prominent players such as Laslo Djere of Serbia, Argentina’s Juan Manuel Cerúndolo, and France’s Hugo Gastón. Adding star power to the event is Swiss player Stan Wawrinka, a former world No. 3 and three-time Grand Slam winner, elevating the tournament to elite international status.
Beyond Tennis: A Full Experience
The event promises more than high-level competition, offering gourmet dining zones, fan engagement areas, live entertainment, and the Cancún Country Club’s top-tier facilities, ensuring a comprehensive experience for attendees.
The Cancún Country Open 2025 reaffirms its role as a key stop on Mexico’s tennis calendar, drawing both rising talents and established stars to the region.
