Mérida, Yucatán — The 2025 edition of the Yucatán International Fair brings together the best of the state's agriculture, industry, and tourism, reaffirming its role as a showcase for local talent, production, and culture.
With a vibrant schedule of events, exhibitions, and shows, Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena inaugurated the 2025 Yucatán International Fair Xmatkuil, the largest and most important exhibition for the people of Yucatán and the entire region, which highlights the state's attractions as well as the talent and work of its people.
In a celebratory atmosphere, framed by music, the traditional "vaquería," and a drone show and fireworks that lit up the sky, Díaz Mena led the opening of the Fair for the people of Yucatán. From November 7 to November 30, it will gather the best of the state in a cultural, commercial, and livestock showcase that will boost the local economy.
"Xmatkuil opens its doors again with a message of hope, unity, and Yucatecan pride. This fair is a reflection of the joint effort of those who day by day build the Yucatán we dream of. Here you will find the faces of the countryside, commerce, industry, and tourism, and generations that keep the identity of our state alive coexist," stated the state leader, accompanied by the Honorary President of the Sistema para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF) Yucatán, Mtra. Wendy Méndez Naal.
From the Izamal esplanade of the fairgrounds, Díaz Mena stated that this Fair is living proof of the Maya Renaissance that we the people of Yucatán are building, a movement that honors our past but looks decisively towards a better future, building prosperity from our roots.
In this sense, the head of the state Executive recognized the livestock sector, a point of pride for the state and a historical protagonist of this Fair since its founding, as the effort of those who make up this sector has made the state a national benchmark in quality and health.
"This Fair is not just an exhibition; it is a tribute to honest work, to the families who get up early every day to transform the land, leather, wood, or thread into sustenance, art, and identity. Every product exhibited here tells a story of perseverance, of love for who we are. That is why, more than a Fair, today we inaugurate a celebration of Yucatecan pride," emphasized the Governor.
Finally, the state leader thanked President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo for the support provided to the people of Yucatán with the projects of the Maya Renaissance.
In his turn, the president of the Asociación de Criadores de Ganado Bovino de Registro del Estado de Yucatán, Manuel Medina Castro, expressed his gratitude to the Government of Díaz Mena for its constant support of the agricultural sector through the strengthening of infrastructure, financing, and training programs. He reaffirmed the commitment of the women and men of the countryside to continue working hand-in-hand with the authorities to continue making the state a benchmark in the field.
Finally, the director general of the Instituto Promotor de Ferias de Yucatán (IPFY), Alberto Basulto Soberanis, invited families to visit this great exhibition, which this year has Oaxaca as the guest state. "May this edition be a reason for pride and fellowship, and may every visitor take a little piece of this fair in their heart," he stated.
Under the slogan "Maaa, qué feria 2025!", the 2025 edition will offer a wide artistic and cultural program with the participation of national and international artists. At the Palenque, figures such as Emmanuel, Mijares, Flans, and Pandora will perform; while at the Teatro del Pueblo, more than 40 shows will be held with local and regional talent.
Furthermore, on the occasion of the Fair, the XXI International Tropical Livestock Fair will take place, and the major agro-producer event is scheduled for November 23.
Subsequently, the Governor, accompanied by hundreds of families, took a tour of the various areas of this Fair, where he inaugurated the livestock pavilions and those of the Cámaras Nacionales de Comercio (Canaco), de la Industria de la Transformación (Canacintra), de la Industria del Vestido (Canaive) and de la Industria de Restaurantes y Alimentos Condimentados (Canirac).
Also present were the president of the Canirac and the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial de Yucatán, Claudia González Góngora; the Secretary of Tourism of Oaxaca, Saymi Pineda Velasco; as well as state officials, and federal and local legislators.
