TULUM — Two men have been formally charged for their alleged involvement in the crimes of attempted femicide and sexual abuse against a teenage girl. The events are reported to have occurred on September 27 in this municipality. The case, which has generated outrage among local residents, remains under investigation by the Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office (FGE).
Judge Orders Formal Imprisonment Order
After the FGE presented the corresponding evidence, a judge determined that sufficient elements existed to initiate criminal proceedings against Jafet Nicolás “N”, also known as “87” or “Draco”, and Ausencio “N”. They are accused of being the probable perpetrators of an attack on the victim, who was left abandoned on a dirt road.
According to the investigation, the accused allegedly sexually abused the minor and shot her with a firearm, inflicting serious injuries. The young woman was found alive the following day, which allowed for her timely medical attention and the initiation of the investigation.
Detention and Seizure of Weapons
Agents from the Investigative Police detained the two men on October 2 during an operation carried out in Tulum. During the intervention, authorities seized two handguns and bags containing narcotics, in addition to other evidence that strengthens the case file.
Initial lines of the investigation indicate that Jafet Nicolás “N” is alleged to have been the one who shot the victim, while Ausencio “N” witnessed the events. Both individuals are reportedly connected to a criminal group responsible for generating violence in the area.
Connection to Other Crimes
The FGE reported that Jafet Nicolás “N” is also under investigation for his alleged participation in the homicide of a man on September 14 of this year, an incident allegedly related to drug dealing activities.
Following the corresponding hearing, the judge imposed preventive detention on both accused individuals for a period of two years or for the duration of the criminal process. During this time, judicial authorities will continue gathering evidence to strengthen the case.
