Mexico City — The Banyan Tree hotel chain is launching a new edition of Thai Fest in 2026, a traveling concept that blends Thai cuisine, culture, and art across multiple destinations in Mexico, with each location offering its own interpretation of Thai heritage in dialogue with local influences.
Rather than replicating tradition, the festival builds on shared affinities: the table as a meeting point, hospitality as a hallmark, and ingredients as living memory. Under this vision, Thai Fest returns for its second consecutive year as an evolving platform that changes with each stop.
A Journey Guided by Five Elements
The festival centers on five “guardians” representing essential forces: ocean, earth, fire, jungle, and spirit. Each defines the character of the experiences, progressing from the fluidity of the sea to a final dimension of integration.
The journey begins at Banyan Tree Cabo Marqués on April 24 and 25. Facing the Pacific, the event starts with an intimate dinner and continues with a recreation of Bangkok’s night markets, where fire, aromas, and sea breezes set the evening’s rhythm.
Flavors That Dialogue With History
On May 2, the experience moves to Banyan Tree Puebla. In this urban setting, the venue’s courtyards become a stage for a proposal where the sound of the wok, spices, and contemporary cocktails build a bridge between tradition and modernity.
Later, on May 16, Thai Fest arrives at Banyan Tree Veya Valle de Guadalupe. Surrounded by vineyards, the event takes on a more introspective tone, with cuisine focused on the balance between technique and ingredients, marking its third anniversary.
From Jungle to Spiritual Closure
On May 23, the experience continues at Hacienda Xcanatun. Under the Yucatan Peninsula sky, a six-course dinner combines Thai techniques with Yucatecan products in an environment that emphasizes connection with nature.
The journey culminates on June 13 at Banyan Tree Mayakoba, where the festival reaches its eighth edition. This closing chapter gathers the elements explored across the country into an experience integrating gastronomy, art, and ritual.
Inspired by the symbolism of the number eight—associated with balance, abundance, and continuity—this final chapter is constructed as a system in constant motion. Eight culinary stations articulate the narrative, with cuisine as the central axis.
Art and Culture at Each Destination
Beyond the gastronomic proposal, Thai Fest incorporates collaborations with local artists, generating a dialogue between Thai heritage and the contemporary Mexican scene.
More than a festival, it presents itself as an evolving experience where each destination adds a new narrative layer. The result is a journey that not only crosses the country but invites attendees to integrate into a story that transforms at each stop.
