CHETUMAL, QUINTANA ROO – The Secretariat of Sustainable Urban Territorial Development (Sedetus) reinforced the protection of family assets in Quintana Roo this year by flagging 116 irregular real estate developments in various municipalities across the state.
This preventive measure primarily aims to prevent real estate fraud, offer legal certainty, and empower citizens to make informed decisions before acquiring land or housing in the entity.
To this end, Sedetus has made an official microsite available. On this platform, interested parties can verify if a development complies with current regulations, promoting transparency and adequate territorial planning.
The preventive policy of Sedetus has allowed for the identification and alerting of constructions that lack official permits. This is crucial to mitigate legal risks and potential economic losses for buyers.
Among the municipalities where these irregularities have been detected are Tulum, Isla Mujeres, Benito Juárez, Othon P Blanco, Bacalar, and Puerto Morelos, highlighting the breadth of the problem in the region.
This effort is framed within close collaboration with municipal governments and is part of the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo. The coordination seeks to promote more orderly urban development.
Under the direction of Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and the head of Sedetus, Jose Alberto Alonso Ovando, public policies are being strengthened. These actions prioritize people, promoting responsible urban growth aligned with the social well-being of the population.
