4 Bodies Found in Secret Mexican Cemetery

Leona Vicario, Puerto Morelos — The Attorney General's Office of the State of Quintana Roo has confirmed the discovery of human remains belonging to four individuals in a clandestine cemetery located in the town of Leona Vicario, in the municipality of Puerto Morelos. The site was identified during investigative work and has been secured by authorities for processing in accordance with forensic protocols.

Investigation and Findings at the Clandestine Cemetery

According to the State Attorney General's Office, 13 points of forensic interest were located on the property where more skeletal remains could be found. It was also reported that experts in criminalistics, anthropology, and forensic medicine are working at each point, alongside the Investigative Police, for the recovery of evidence.

The remains were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service in order to conduct genetic, anthropological, and odontological studies to determine their identity and the time elapsed since their burial.

The Prosecutor's Office's Commitment to Truth and Justice

The Prosecutor's Office reiterated its commitment to the victims and their families, assuring that the investigations are being conducted with respect for human rights and under the highest technical and scientific standards. The institution also emphasized that it will spare no resources to identify and bring to justice those responsible for this clandestine cemetery. Updates will be provided in a timely manner to maintain the transparency of the process.
