Tulum, Quintana Roo — Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and Mayor Diego Castañón inspected the progress of Tulum’s new Command, Control, Communication, and Computing Center (C4), a strategic facility that will enhance security and emergency response in the municipality.
The C4, which is 70% complete, will integrate multiple agencies including the Public Security Department, State Prosecutor’s Office, Red Cross, firefighters, Mexican Army, Mexican Navy, National Guard, and civil protection services. It will also coordinate the 911 emergency number and the anonymous tip line 089 under a modern, efficient model aimed at building peace.
The project, with a total investment exceeding 38 million pesos, is expected to be completed before the end of the current administration. Funding comes from the Municipal Strengthening Fund (Fortamun) and municipal resources, distributed across two phases: over 28.3 million pesos for the first phase and nearly 10 million pesos for the second.
During the tour, Governor Lezama noted that the construction features specialized foundations, block walls, concrete columns, and a high-resistance structure designed to house state-of-the-art technology. She announced that installation of software and technological equipment, such as antennas, bases, and cameras, will begin this year, with the goal of having internal infrastructure ready when exterior work finishes. Simultaneously, equipment for permanent monitoring and strategic coordination among agencies will be supplied.
“We are building a safer Tulum. We work 24/7 to guarantee peace, confidence, and hope for every family in this wonderful municipality,” Lezama said, reiterating that Tulum will soon have a modern C4 serving the community.
She also greeted the personnel who will staff the center, emphasizing the importance of fostering a culture of reporting among citizens.
Heyden Cebada Rivas, president of the Quintana Roo Superior Court of Justice, and Verónica Lezama, honorary president of the Quintana Roo DIF system, also attended the inspection.
