Quintana Roo Braces for Hot, Partly Cloudy Sunday With Isolated Showers

Weather forecast map showing conditions across Quintana Roo

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Quintana Roo is set for a hot and partly cloudy Sunday with isolated showers and strong winds, according to the state’s civil protection agency.

The Quintana Roo State Civil Protection Coordination (Coeproc) reported that moisture from the Caribbean Sea is moving into the Yucatan Peninsula, leading to partly cloudy skies that will increase throughout the day.

Isolated showers with intervals of heavier downpours, accumulating 5 to 25 mm, are expected, accompanied by electrical activity. The environment will remain hot.

Winds are forecast to reach 40 to 60 kilometers per hour, with waves of 1.5 to 2.5 meters high along the state’s coastal areas.

Additionally, cold front number 43 and its polar air mass will move over northeastern and eastern Mexico and the Gulf of Mexico slope, bringing cool, gusty north winds, rain, and a drop in temperatures.
