Tulum, Mexico — New offices of the Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT) began operations in Tulum this Monday, a development that will allow individuals to complete their tax procedures without having to travel to other municipalities.
The municipal president, Diego Castañón Trejo, personally visited the facilities located at Plaza Andador, unit number 5, to confirm the opening and verify that residents were already making use of this service, which represents a significant advancement in citizen services.
SAT Now Providing Direct Service in Tulum
During his visit, the mayor highlighted that it took more than six months of meetings and negotiations with tax authorities to finalize the installation of this SAT module.
"Today, the people of Tulum will no longer have to travel to Playa del Carmen and spend the entire day to complete a procedure. Now they will be able to do it in their own municipality, quickly and efficiently, in addition to being able to schedule appointments on the official SAT website," expressed Castañón Trejo.
SAT staff reported that the office hours will be Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Available Procedures for Individuals
Among the services offered at the new SAT offices in Tulum are:
- Registration for the RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes) for individuals.
- Processing and renewal of the electronic signature (e.firma).
- Updates and modifications to the Federal Taxpayer Registry (RFC).
With this achievement, the Tulum Government reaffirms its commitment to facilitating procedures and bringing federal services closer to the population, driving administrative transformation and improving the quality of life for the municipality's citizens.
