Tulum, Quintana Roo — A motorcyclist suffered severe head trauma and multiple life-threatening fractures after being struck by an SUV in Tulum’s Aldea Tulum neighborhood, requiring emergency airlift to a hospital in Playa del Carmen.
According to witness accounts, the motorcyclist was riding an Italika motorcycle with Quintana Roo license plates when he allegedly ran a stop sign at an intersection within the residential development. A white Suburban SUV used for private transportation services then struck the motorcycle.

Red Cross paramedics responded to the scene and provided emergency medical care. During their initial assessment, they identified at least three fractures associated with traumatic brain injury, placing the patient in critical condition.
Due to the severity of the injuries and need for specialized care, authorities arranged for helicopter transport. The aircraft landed at a baseball field within the municipal sports complex, where paramedics transferred the stabilized patient for air transport to a general hospital in Playa del Carmen.
