Mattel has launched the special edition Barbie Day of the Dead 2025, a doll that celebrates one of Mexico's most deeply rooted and marvelous traditions. "The Barbie Day of the Dead collection honors this holiday with fashion and details that celebrate the culture, rituals, and traditional symbols, offering a unique piece for collectors and lovers of Mexican tradition," the company details in the description on its website.

A highlighted new feature is that the new doll presents more articulation than previous editions, which allows it to adopt more poses, "ideal for creating creative displays and highlighting every angle of this collector doll," they add.

The Design of Barbie Day of the Dead 2025

The Barbie Day of the Dead wears a dress with puffed sleeves and a wide skirt inspired by the cempasúchil flower, a distinctive emblem of this celebration that is always present on altars.

The designer of Barbie Day of the Dead 2025 was Ari Sarinana, and it has packaging by Charis Ceniseroz. The floral print stands out on the bodice of the dress and on the hem of the skirt. In turn, the luminous orange is found in stripes that join other yellow and pink ones.

The cempasúchil flower is also present on the Barbie's headband. She wears her hair down in extra-long waves with soft curls and the traditional Catrina makeup.

The festive and elegant gold is part of the new Barbie's style; it is found on her heart-shaped earrings and her necklaces, as well as on trims on the skirt and on her sandals with a triple ankle strap.

"The vibrant packaging with a cempasúchil design is perfect for display and gifting, conveying the spirit of the Day of the Dead and accompanying the memory of loved ones with a special touch," they say on Mattel's website.

Price and Availability of the Barbie Day of the Dead Edition

The Barbie Day of the Dead 2025 can be purchased at El Palacio de Hierro and at Juguetrón. The price of the doll is 2,099 Mexican pesos and includes a certificate of authenticity and a display stand.

Ken Day of the Dead 2025 Edition

Ken also joins the Day of the Dead celebration with a special edition worthy of an altar. Dressed in a shirt embroidered with cempasúchil flowers, a vest, and pants with gold accents, this doll incorporates a traditional Mexican hat. Furthermore, it features calavera (skeleton) makeup that reinforces the symbolism of the Day of the Dead, making it look even more special.

Its price is also 2,099 Mexican pesos and, like the Barbie edition, includes its certificate of authenticity.

Monster High Joins the Day of the Dead Celebration

Skelita Calaveras Día de Muertos 2025 is, without a doubt, one of the most important releases for Monster High fans. This special version of the skeletal student wears a black satin dress decorated with explosions of color representing her Aztec heritage. Her headdress represents Quetzalcóatl, the feathered serpent of Mesoamerican mythology, and includes several pieces of jewelry and decorative packaging that mixes the classic elements of the Day of the Dead without losing the Monster High style.

The doll measures 13 inches, has 11 points of articulation, and its price is 1,350 Mexican pesos.
