Cancún, Mexico — The body of a man was discovered wrapped in plastic bags during the early hours of Monday on Margaritas Street, in block 106 of superblock 259 of the Villas Otoch Paraíso subdivision. The discovery was reported just after midnight, when residents detected several black bags placed next to a garbage container.
According to initial reports, a passerby noticed that what appeared to be a part of a human body was protruding from one of the bags, prompting them to alert the 911 emergency number.
Municipal Police officers arrived at the location to verify the report. Upon arrival, they cordoned off the area and requested the intervention of specialized personnel. The authorities confirmed that it was a human body wrapped in plastic bags.
Preliminary information indicates the victim was found bound and with his mouth taped shut. No details about his identity or physical characteristics have been released, and the person remains unidentified.
Personnel from the Directorate of Forensic Services of the Attorney General's Office of the State (FGE) arrived at the site. They carried out the removal of the body and its transfer to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo). They also began processing the scene and collecting evidence to build the corresponding investigation file.
Agents from the Investigative Police also appeared at the location to initiate the necessary procedures to clarify the facts, identify the victim, and locate the possible perpetrators. As of now, the FGE has not issued official information related to this case. The investigation continues.
