Lady Therian Breaks Silence After Egg-Throwing Incident at Mérida Gathering

Mérida, Yucatán — A woman who goes by Lady Therian online has broken her silence after a video showed her throwing eggs at a man dressed as a bunny during a therian identity gathering in Mérida, saying she does not regret her actions.

Nicole Guzmán, a Mérida native who identifies as a therian, made the comments in a TikTok video after footage circulated online showing her throwing eggs at a man in a rabbit costume during a meetup at the Monumento a la Patria last Saturday. The incident has sparked divided reactions on social media.

In her video, Guzmán acknowledged she “went a bit overboard” and needs to control herself, but stated, “I’m not sorry.” She denied accusations that her behavior was influenced by alcohol or drugs, saying “that’s just how I am.”

Guzmán also called critics hypocrites, claiming they’re the same people who mock therians online. The therian community includes people who identify spiritually or psychologically as animals.

Following the egg-throwing incident, Guzmán was involved in a violent confrontation with another woman who defended the attacks, leading to her detention by public security officers.
