Mexico City — Raúl Rocha Cantú, a businessman from Nuevo León and owner of Miss Universe, has transitioned from being a protected witness to being sought by the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR) for alleged organized crime offenses aimed at committing firearms and hydrocarbon trafficking.
According to an arrest warrant accessed by Latinus, the apprehension was authorized on December 15, 2025, by a federal judge in Querétaro.
“At 11:45 hours on December 15, 2025, an arrest warrant is issued against Raúl Rocha Cantú, alias ‘Raúl Rocha’; in criminal case 495/2025, for the act that the law designates as the illicit offense of Organized Crime, with the purpose of committing crimes, Trafficking of Firearms and Hydrocarbons,” states the document.
The evidence presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office to request Rocha Cantú’s detention indicates that the address he provided to be located is not inhabited by him, a fact verified during a visit by FGR personnel.
“It can be noted that the accused does not have a certain address and much less a domiciliary root in the States of Mexico, Querétaro, and Mexico City, and that the address he has registered, which has already been investigated, has never been slept in, but is an irregular address provided so that he is not located by the authorities,” states the arrest warrant.
Additionally, according to the FGR’s arguments, Raúl Rocha Cantú frequently leaves the country, so his whereabouts are unknown.
“Furthermore, it is noted that he constantly travels from one country to another, so there is a very high probability that he will not return to Mexican territory and thus evade justice,” asserts the FGR.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office investigations, his alleged connections with organized crime allowed him to obtain false documents to leave Mexico.
“In addition to the above, from the investigations carried out by the prosecutor, the frequent contact that members of the criminal cell have with various authorities is observed, which provides them with facilities to obtain documents with which they can hide or alter their identity, in order not to be located for proper process conduction,” cites the file.
